Why SAP Master Data Governance
To bring structure and control to its data landscape, IBA implemented SAP Master Data Governance (SAP MDG) on SAP S/4HANA 2023.
The goal was clear: create one central governance framework for master data and automate the processes around creation, changes and lifecycle management.
Together with the Alluvion MDG Productivity Pack (MPP), SAP MDG enables structured workflows, validation rules and automated data enrichment. This ensures that business partner and material data remain consistent, accurate and compliant across the entire organization.
From fragmented processes to controlled automation
Business partner and material creation now follow controlled workflows with clear roles for enrichment and approval. Intelligent rules and validations ensure that data is correct from the start.
Suppliers can submit and update their own information through a secure vendor form. Data such as addresses, banking details and tax information flows directly into the MDG process, reducing manual work and improving accuracy.
IBA also introduced automated lifecycle controls for materials. For example, when a new material version is introduced, the previous one is gradually phased out through validation checks and approval workflows.
Using predefined rules and material templates, much of the required data is automatically populated. This reduces manual entry and ensures consistent data structures across the organization.
Large volumes of master data can now be updated through controlled workflows. Duplicate or conflicting records from different systems are consolidated into a single trusted source.
Automated notifications keep the right teams informed when actions are required, increasing transparency and speeding up decision-making.
