MPP Process Orchestrator is a modular component of Alluvion's SAP MDG Productivity Pack (MPP). It adds governance, mass and consolidation create/change functionality for materials, supporting BOM data, derivations in consolidation and mass and workflow-based approval based upon MPP's RACI concept.
As a modular building block, the Process Orchestrator can be fully configured to your organization's specific business needs. Business users can fully create new materials and update existing materials in bulk, while simultaneously providing BOM data in the same Excel file.
Each record is automatically validated against your governance rules, with all necessary derivations executed before anything is written to SAP. But this is not all, every single record can be approved by an approval workflow, based on Alluvion's MPP RACI concept, giving the master data team the flexibility to approve or reject records if these are not compliant to business rules.
You prepare the data in Excel, hundreds in a single run, supporting derivations in Consolidation and mass processing, BOM's and approval workflows based on Alluvion's MPP RACI concept at the same time.

The missing link in your SAP Process
SAP enables the bulk creation and change of materials, but stops short when it comes to the broader process. BOMs, derivations and workflow approvals are not natively supported within the same mass-processing flow, forcing organizations to rely on separate tools, manual steps and disconnected processes.
MPP Process Orchestrator bridges this gap by combining mass material creation and change with BOMs, derivations and workflow approvals through one modular governed end-to-end process.
What is MPP Process Orchestrator?
MPP Process Orchestrator brings an end-to-end SAP MDG solution for governed mass material creation and change, combining BOMs, derivations and workflow approvals into SAP MDG's proven framework for large scale data maintenance: Consolidation and Mass Processing. It enables business users to process hundreds of materials in one run, while keeping full governance and control.
Because the Process Orchestrator is built on a modular architecture through the means of separate subprocesses, organizations don't need to adopt the full scope at once. Each capability: mass processing, BOM handling, derivations and workflow approvals can be configured independently, allowing the solution to be tailored to the specific business need at hand and to grow along with the organization's governance requirements over time.
For your team, that means no new tool and no separate environment: BOMs are maintained within the same excel file upload and the same type of SAP Fiori applications they already use for their other master data objects, derivations are automatically performed based on your business rules and all bulk material data uploaded can be individually approved or rejected by the master data team, based on MPP's RACI concept.
What can you do with it?
MPP Process Orchestrator is built on top of SAP MDG's proven framework for large-scale data maintenance: Consolidation and Mass Processing. It runs through a set of separate subprocesses, so you decide which capabilities you actually need. If a particular part, like BOM handling for example, isn't relevant to your organization, it can simply be left out of your configuration.
-
Start from a single Excel file: Every upload starts from one and the same Excel file, containing not only material data but also BOM data. This gives you a single point of entry: one file, one upload, instead of juggling multiple tools or manual hand-offs between teams.
-
Process everything together, at scale: From that one file, you can create and change hundreds of materials in a single run, while at the same time processing the related BOM data, running derivations, and triggering workflow approvals. All of this happens in the same pass, instead of as separate, disconnected steps.
-
Adapt it to how your organization works: Because each subprocess can be switched on or off independently, the Process Orchestrator grows with your organization. Start with what you need today, for example mass material creation, and activate BOM handling, derivations, or approval workflows later without reworking what's already in place.
What Process Orchestrators Are Supported?
MPP Process Orchestrator currently supports the Material category, including all material-relevant BOM usages configured in your system (production, engineering/design, universal, plant maintenance, sales and costing), as well as BOMs with multiple alternatives.
Why you should use MPP Process Orchestrator!
A modular approach that scales with you
The modular setup means you decide what you need, and when you need it. Start with only the capabilities your business needs today, and as governance requirements evolve or new needs arise, simply add additional subprocesses, without disrupting what's already running. The solution grows alongside your organization, rather than requiring a new implementation every time your needs change.
One process instead, One single point of entry
Materials, BOMs, derivations and approvals no longer need separate tools or manual hand-offs between teams. Your organization runs everything as one governed process, starting from a single Excel file, reducing coordination overhead and minimizing hand-off errors.
Data quality, guaranteed before it reaches SAP
Because validation and derivations run automatically before any record is written, errors are caught upstream and data is enriched rather than cleaned up afterwards. Your SAP system stays reliable, without relying on manual checks or downstream corrections.
Governance without slowing the business down
The built-in approval workflow, based on Alluvion's MPP RACI concept, gives your master data team the control to approve or reject records, without becoming a bottleneck for the business users who need materials processed at scale.
No disruption for your team
There's no new tool to learn and no separate environment to manage. Business users continue working in Excel and the SAP Fiori applications they already know, the Process Orchestrator works within that familiar landscape, not around it.
Built on a proven SAP foundation
Because it's built on top of SAP MDG's native Consolidation and Mass Processing framework, you're not adopting a bolt-on workaround, you're extending a framework SAP already supports and maintains.
