Alluvion’s SimpleMDG workshop
At Alluvion, we believe the best way to understand the value of a master data governance solution is to experience it yourself. That is why we created the Alluvion SimpleMDG Workshop. This workshop is a hands-on session where business users can explore the system as an end-user, performing realistic master data tasks in a reliable, guided environment.
In just a few hours, participants experience how SimpleMDG streamlines master data activities, from creating a single record to cleaning up a dataset.
What you will learn and do
During the workshop, you will first get a short recap of what SimpleMDG is, then you will step into different roles (Requestor, Approver and Data Steward) and work through four real-world exercises:
Single Object Maintenance - Business Partner Creation
Learn how to manually create a Business Partner with the central governance capabilities of SimpleMDG:
- Search for existing records to prevent creating duplicates.
- Fill in the details of the Business Partner (general data, purchasing/sales info, payment info, …).
- Pass the record through an approval workflow and activate it.
- Understand how the platform enforces data quality and compliance at each stage.
Mass Object Maintenance - Business Partner Update
Discover how to perform updates on multiple records at once:
- Select several Business Partner records.
- Export them to Excel, make changes, and re-upload or change them in the UI.
- Use the built-in duplicate check to validate updates.
- Discover how approval and activation work for large volumes of changes.
Consolidation - Cleansing and Deduplication
Experience how the consolidation on source records functionality works:
- Import a data file with Business Partners.
- Run validation rules to check completeness.
- Identify duplicates and merge them into a “best record.”
- Review data quality before activation in SAP ERP system.
Data Quality Management - Evaluating Master Data
Test the quality of your master data using Data Quality Management in SimpleMDG:
- Run data quality evaluations against predefined rules (e.g.: valid email, address completeness, Business Partner compliance, …).
- Analyze color-coded scores and investigate failed records in detail.
- Correct data directly via single or mass processing.
- Monitor quality improvements over time.
