Get to know a Profile

A profile in SAP Reltio provides a central overview of an individual record and all the information associated with it. Through its different tabs, users can explore attributes such as date of birth and address, understand relationships with other entities, review potential duplicates and gain insight into how the golden record is maintained.

Each tab offers a different perspective on the profile, providing users with the transparency and tools needed to manage their data effectively.

Profile Overview

The Profile tab provides an overview of all attributes associated with a profile and their corresponding values. Users can consult the available information in one place, making it easier to understand the complete profile.

Additionally, the Profile tab includes a Potential Matches section, providing a short, compact overview of possible duplicate records associated with the profile. This allows users to quickly identify potential matches without having to navigate to the dedicated Potential Matches tab for a more detailed review.

Relationships

The Relationships tab displays all relationships associated with the selected profile in a structured list view.

Each relationship provides additional information, including:

  • Relation ID: Provides a unique identifier for the relationship, allowing users to distinguish and reference individual relationships.
  • Type: Specifies the type of relationship between the profiles.
  • Direction Label: Indicates the direction of the relationship.
  • Start Date & End Date: Defines the validity period of the relationship.
  • Additional Attributes: Displays any other information associated with the relationship.

This allows users to understand how different entities are connected and how these relationships evolve over time.

Relationship Graph

The Graph tab visualises the relationships between the selected profile and other entities in an interactive graph view.

Instead of reviewing relationships individually in a list, users can explore how different entities are connected. This provides a more visual understanding of complex business relationships and the connections between customers, suppliers, products and other master data objects.

Profile Reltio Matching Tab

Potential Matches & Merge

The Potential Matches tab helps users identify and manage possible duplicate records.

SAP Reltio automatically identifies records that may represent the same entity by applying predefined matching rules. These rules determine which attributes and criteria are used to identify potential duplicates. Users can review potential matches and compare the available information before deciding how to proceed.

Available actions include:

  • Merge: Combine two matching records into one consolidated profile. The resulting golden record is determined by the configured survivorship rules.
  • Not a Match: Indicate that two records do not represent the same entity. Users can provide a comment to document the reason for their decision.
  • Search for Potential Matches: Manually search for additional records that could represent the same entity, including records that were not automatically identified by SAP Reltio.

Users can also review the matching method to understand which attributes or criteria were used to identify the potential match.

Profile Reltio Sources Tab

Golden Record & Survivorship Rules

The Sources tab provides insight into how SAP Reltio builds the golden record using data received from different source systems.

It displays the source records and their corresponding attribute values, allowing users to trace the origin of the data and understand how the golden record is constructed.

Through configured survivorship rules, SAP Reltio determines which attribute values best represent the entity when multiple values are available from different sources.

The selected attribute values are called Operational Values (OVs). These values are used to build the golden record.

For each attribute, users can review:

  • The values received from the different sources.
  • The source system associated with each value.
  • The survivorship rule type applied.
  • The Operational Value (OV) selected by the survivorship rule and used in the golden record.

For example, a survivorship rule can prioritise a specific source system over others when multiple systems provide a value for the same attribute.

This provides transparency into how SAP Reltio determines the values that make up the golden record and allows users to understand why specific attribute values are selected.

Profile Reltio Activity Log Tab

Activity Log

The Activity Log provides a chronological overview of activities performed on a profile.

It records events such as:

  • Profile created
  • Profile updated
  • Profile merged manually
  • Potential matches removed

This gives users visibility into the history of a profile and helps them understand what has changed over time.
